Everyone's calling unnecessary meetings all the time, people are bombarding you with hundreds of emails and phone calls. Did you know that it takes about 15 minutes to get back into work flow should you get interrupted? Therefore, workplace interruptions should be kept to a minimum.
- So what can we expect in 2012? New ways of working? Reshaping of office environments? The mobile workplace is currently seen as more flexible way to work than physical workplace. Online collaboration and management tools will dominate the remote offices.
- Meetings where nothing is decided are a waste of time. In order to make sure meeting attendees come to a decision and take action, you need to have a productive dialogue.
- Being on time is always a good start for a productive meeting. Respect the other person's time. Stay focused.
